I always put blocks/spacers between a deck's inside joist and the buildings joist then lag bolt that to the building. So if using 2X8's a couple 2X8X6 will do. Then calk the living out of the top of the blocks or if possible use a flashing. Or you could use joist hangers to attach the deck joists to the main joist.
